DITO Becomes Fastest Mobile Network, Surpassing Smart in the Philippines

Meet the new fastest mobile network in the country.

DITO Telecommunity, the fastest-growing telecom provider in the Philippines, shown its speed advantage in 5G and overall service. An independent mobile analytics firm, Opensignal, recognized DITO as the Fastest Mobile Network in the country, surpassing Smart in the speed competition.

According to Opensignal’s Mobile Network Experience report from October 2024, DITO won 14 awards, making it the most recognized and fastest telco in the country for 5G speeds and overall experience.

DITO leads in speed, winning all four awards for overall and 5G performance. It shows its strength in 5G download speed with 287.2 Mbps, almost twice as fast as Smart’s 147.5 Mbps and well ahead of Globe’s 95.2 Mbps. Users experience the highest overall download speeds on DITO’s network at 34.6 Mbps, while Smart and Globe follow with 28.6 Mbps and 20.9 Mbps, respectively.

Pierce Snyder, Sr. Market Research Analyst at Opensignal, said that DITO’s network offers the fastest speeds for our Filipino users.

DITO was recognized as the top mobile network for 5G Video Experience, Games Experience, and Voice App Experience. These awards shows how well subscribers enjoy smooth standard-definition video streaming, gaming, and high-quality voice services.

DITO gained significant recognition for its availability, quality, and reliability, confirming its commitment to offer accessible and dependable high-speed connectivity. It was named the Most Available Mobile Network in the Philippines, for both overall and 5G services, as well as the Most Consistent Network Quality and Most Reliable Network.

Snyder said that DITO has received the highest number of awards in this report. He also mentioned that since starting commercial services in March 2021, DITO has become a leader in the mobile network experience.
